New York's Realest Bar. Open Late.

A no-frills SoHo institution on East Houston Street, pouring cold beers and good times since before the neighborhood got fancy.

About Us

Some bars try to be something. Milano's Bar at 51 E Houston St just is. While the blocks around it have cycled through boutiques, pop-ups, and overpriced aperitivo spots, this narrow slice of old New York has barely blinked. The regulars know it. The tourists stumble in and immediately understand it. The 529 reviews averaging 4.5 stars don't lie.

Step inside and your eyes adjust from the street glare into something that feels genuinely lived-in. There are beers on tap, cocktails behind the bar, and a jukebox that earns its keep. The room is tight, the vibe is loose, and the staff keeps things moving without making you feel rushed. On Monday afternoons, jazz finds its way in through the door, and somehow that makes complete sense.

Milano's is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 8 AM to 4 AM, and Sunday from 10 AM to 4 AM. Those are not typos. This place runs long and runs true, exactly the way a neighborhood bar in lower Manhattan should.

What We Offer

The bar anchors everything here. A solid lineup of beers on tap anchors the drink menu alongside a range of cocktails, so whether you're settling in for a slow afternoon pint or starting a long night, you're covered without ceremony or confusion.

The back of the bar has tables, a jukebox wired into TouchTunes, and enough room to make an evening of it with a group. Live jazz occasionally takes over on weekday afternoons, turning a quiet Monday into something worth walking in off the street for.

This is a cash-and-conversation kind of place. No reservations, no dress code, no performance of hospitality. Just a bar doing what a bar is supposed to do, in a city that keeps forgetting how.

Why Choose Us

Rated 4.5 stars across 529 reviews, a track record built one honest pint at a time.
Open until 4 AM every single day of the week, no exceptions and no early closings.
Beers on tap and a full cocktail selection, ready the moment you walk through the door.
A jukebox, back tables, and a staff that actually makes you feel at home in a tight room.
Live jazz pops up on select afternoons, turning a weekday into something worth remembering.
One of the last genuinely unpretentious bars on East Houston Street in ever-changing SoHo.

"Milano’s is a classic. As the rest of the neighborhood keeps changing and developing these guys keep it steady with their plentiful amount of beers on tap and other cocktails ready to order. The bar is super narrow making for close interactions with local New Yorkers and tourists alike who probably are taking shopping trips in nearby soho. Dean Wareham of the bands galaxie 500 and Luna said he used to frequent this place back in the 1980s. They’ve got indie rock cred!"

"Walked by and saw a flyer in the window for Monday afternoon jazz. Wasn't sure it was open as it was so dark inside compared to the bright sunshine inside and found it was. What a great little bar, friendly bar tender and an enjoyable set by a jazz duo. I'd certainly pay another visit next time in in NY"

"We took up 2 tables in the back and dumped credits into the touchtunes for hours while bartender Maria was amazing and kind. Warning - no fat people allowed. You wont fit between the bar seats and the wall."

"Came here a few nights ago for some soda with friends since I’m not a bar fly alcoholic like my aunt is. She can put down a whole 15 pack in about 2 hours. She was here unfortunately and totally killed the mood when I was hanging out with my frat boys. We were having a nice time talking about laundry and how we can improve the frat house laundry room when aunt barfly came up and started cackling super loudly because she was drunk. Thankfully the bartender kicked her out. Me and the frat boys continued discussing laundry room plans and came up with the idea of 2 milnor 275 pound washers and a 60 pound washer as well as 2 310 pound dryers and a 120 pound dryer. We have 50-80 guys at the house so we have a lot of washing. We had a nice time here and the food was really good as well. Burgers were cooked good and all the staff was super friendly here. We will most definitely be returning soon."
